Lamb Meatballs with Herbed Yogurt Sauce

Ingredients

  • (1 lb.) Ground Lamb
  • (1 egg) Eggs, 1 Dozen
  • (1/4 cup) Breadcrumbs
  • (2 cloves) Garlic, minced
  • (2 tbsp) Parsley or Mint, chopped
  • (1 tsp) Ground Cumin
  • (1/2 tsp) Salt
  • (1/4 tsp) Black Pepper
  • (1 cup) Plain Greek Yogurt
  • (1 tbsp) Olive Oil
  • (1 tbsp) Lemon Juice
  • (2 tbsp (dill, parsley, or mint)) Fresh Herbs, chopped
  • (to taste) Salt

Directions

  1. Mix the meatballs: In a large bowl, combine ground lamb, breadcrumbs, egg, garlic, herbs, and spices. Mix gently until just combined.
  2. Form & cook: Roll into small meatballs (about 1–1.5 inches). Heat a drizzle of olive oil in a skillet over medium heat and cook meatballs in batches, turning occasionally, until browned and cooked through (about 8–10 minutes).
  3. Make the sauce: Stir together yogurt, olive oil, lemon juice, and chopped herbs. Season with salt to taste.
  4. Serve: Plate the meatballs with a generous dollop of yogurt sauce. Add greens, warm flatbread, or rice on the side.
